Andrew Grant – Subject “The Power House Museum”
Andrew Grant has been deeply involved in preserving, documenting and promoting Australia’s transport heritage since the mid 1970s, initially as an industrial arts educator, then a project manager and later senior curator at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney.
After graduating with a B.Sc. (Hons) from the University of NSW in 1976, he completed an M.Sc. in 1985 with a thesis about the coachbuilding industry in Australia.
Since his retirement in 2012, Andrew has been a volunteer at the Powerhouse and is also a transport heritage consultant, which mainly involves providing formal advice about the cultural significance of transport artefacts and collections in order to achieve better collection management outcomes.
Andrew and his wife Marilyn married in 1973. They have a daughter and a son, also happily married, and four energetic granddaughters aged from 6 to 3 years.

iPad/iPhone Interest Group
TUESDAY 5th March 2019 at 10 a.m.
This group deals with iPads, iPhones and even Apple Mac computers. There is no need to own an iPad as the club has a couple for use at our meeting. If you are considering buying an iPad and are confused about which one to buy, come along and see the different styles and sizes. All questions and problems welcome and our tutors will endeavour to help you out. Interested iPad spectators welcome.
Android Tablet Interest Group
This group will be looking at the iPad alternative, namely the Android Tablets. If you own an Android Tablet bring it along with you. Interested spectators also welcome.
Please Note: This Group is in recess until further notice. (The Group usually meets on the 2nd Tuesday morning of each month at 9.30am.)

Guest Speaker: Terry James
Subject “Serving in the Vietnam War”
Terry was born 5th June 1947, so turning 72 this year
Went to Boarding School at St Patrick’s College, Goulburn--Completed the Leaving Certificate in 1964
Conscripted into National Service in October 1967--Still the only lottery I have ever won!!!
Posted to 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment on completion of basic training
Served an operational Tour of Duty in South Vietnam from January 1969 as a forward scout
Discharged from the army in November, 1969
Studied Accountancy and worked in many large Corporations as a Financial Controller –Retired in 2000
Play golf twice weekly—Lucky enough to have had 3 holes-in- one since 2002
Treasurer of Royal Parklea Golf Club since 2005
Honorary Secretary of Hornsby RSL Sub-Branch 2007—2014
President of Hornsby RSL Sub-Branch 2015—current
Currently on numerous political and community organisation committees
